Funeral Potatoes

1/2 chopped onion
1 cube butter
6 slices of chopped bacon
1 C. sour cream
2 cans cream chicken or mushroom soup
1-2 C. grated cheddar cheese
2 lbs. shredded potatoes, fresh or frozen thawed

Saute onion and bacon in a little butter.
Add all other ingredients. Mix well. Pour into casserole dish and bake @ 400 degrees for an hour.
